I close my eyes and I’m still in the north—
playing cat and mouse with the weather;
perched on a cliff studying the sky;
slicing through the air with some of my best friends.
And of course the cozy times inside sharing our favorite whiskeys, home cooked meals, and laughing about how absurd the world is.
I know when I return many places will be the same but just as many will be different. Some things familiar and others unrecognizable—just like me.
Sometimes it feels like another life but one day I will be back and no matter the conditions it will be a good day.
